Lean Research from MIT

A couple months ago I stumbled across the MIT Lean Advancement Initiative (LAI) website at http://lean.mit.edu

It is a veritable goldmine of papers and research relating to lean product development and lean systems engineering. You can search through the publications yourself. I took an initial pass thru and found the following couple dozen papers whose abstracts caught my eye:
  • A Comparative Review of Lean Thinking, Six Sigma and Related Enterprise Process Improvement Initiatives
  • Measuring Value in Product Development
  • Improving the Software Upgrade Value Stream
  • Strategies for Lean Product Development
  • Understanding Lean Manufacturing According to Axiomatic Design Principles
  • Value Stream Mapping and Earned Value Management: Two Perspectives on Value in Product Development
  • Value Stream Analysis and Mapping for Product Development
  • Sources of Schedule Risk in Complex System Development
  • Lean Enterprise Model
  • Cost Awareness in Design: The Role of Data Commonality
  • Construction Design as a Process for Flow: Applying Lean Principles to Construction Design
  • Performing Collaborative, Distributed Systems Engineering (CDSE): Lessons Learned
  • Creating High-Performance Enterprises
  • Corporate Decision Analysis: an Engineering Approach
  • Systems Development Technical Interactions and Innovation: A Networks-Based Investigation

Happy reading!
